Its Little Late..

Its Little Late i know, don’t know how I missed to write about dhyey’s first week in school. I want to preserve it in my blog and memory too…..

Second Day:
As Happy as on First day, because mumma was with him in class.

Third Day:
He was very eager to leave the home, because he did not know he will have to stay there with out mom, till the school he was happy, when I dropped him into the class, he was little confused as he didn’t find mom there, but after few minutes he found some kids crying, he also started rubbing his cheeks… we were told to wait outside of class , and from the glass door some scene were visible so, one by one we all moms watched our kids. I could listen his crying clearly..:(  when he came out with his mates, he was so overwhelmed , hugged me , trying to control his tears but rolled down finally,.

Fourth Day:
Just like third day, as usual,, crying on and off..

Second Week:
In this week school increased time slowly by half an hour, parents waited outside of class and just waited to set their kids.

Last Day of Second Day:
It was Friday, very bad day for Dhyey and also for me as well ,teacher told me on Thursday, he has settled now, and feels fine during the class hours. But somehow I was feeling I should wait there and watch the situation, so after dropping him into the class, I came outside of premises. Now nobody was there, I went up alone, stood there for two and half hour, as parents were not allowed outside, so I was moving here and there.(so nobody can watch me) I found him crying whole the time, literally I was crying out side, that day was puppet show, so teacher was taking all the kids to another area to watch that, i was seeing him crying behind wall, I found him in maid’s hand, was constantly crying and asking for mumma. I had to put stone on my heart, he cried badly for two and half hours. I was waiting for teacher to come outside, and to take dhyey in my lap..:(
It was really a heartbreaking time for me.and don’t want to recall those moments now..

Bath With Dady-Fun filled Experience

SometimesI had a doubt about Dhyey's love for me. He has expressed that often to me in his own different ways. Sometimes he holds my cheeks in his palm, sometimes he pulls my hair, sometimes he bites me to express his lovely feelings. I was the most preferred one for his hugs and kissies.
It is really amazing, how Dhyey makes me feel sooo special at times,by letting me know that he needs me and loves me , despite of everyone else and that I mean so much to him!!!!

But now feelings are liitle diverted towards his dady, He starts waiting by 8  at the doorstep till sarang reaches home.he waits to have dinner with him, roaming around building and yes evening bath too after this special occasion.
Last week he had wonderful time with his dady, I was taking him in bathroom for Freshen up, I turned back and I thought,  sarang can also give him shower,
Sarang refused and said, “No, I cant, even dhyey will not enjoy and he may hurt too”, I avoid his excuses and notify  him, you also have to make Strong bond with him, the experience you make with him, will be most enjoyable thing in his life, and see, just within two days, some how I feel that, he is trying to say he loves our company not toys, chocolate, books etc, by saying “mumma-Nany”!!!! he values our time, The memories of such lovely and fun filled experiences reside for a lifetime in their memory, rather than pricey stuffs and gifts.

If one ask him, what do you enjoy most, he says,”mumma-Nany” means, his mom-dad!!!! Omg he is too small to realize such things, but he values the time, we are spending with him, In Recent Days he sleeps with his dady, cuddles him, does kisses and hug him and then after he sleeps. My God,in a little time he has become so affectionate.. such things makes very difficult time to me to pass just 2.5 hrs with out him when he goes to school. Today I am Happy about My decision, YES,,I've made right decision for not Rejoin my Field work.

Dhyey does so much fun every day and each evening I have so many incidents to blog , but by the time I am blogging I forget most of them, but surely i will include all of them separately in upcoming blogs.

I Miss !

The wishes of a mother for her kids are always contradictory. We want them to grow up fast and achieve Every thing in their life and at the same time we want them to stay our babies for ever!!
Few Days Before I was chatting with my Friend Tejal , she was sharing some issues with his son. We were chit-chatting on our little one’s mischief. On that night I couldn’t sleep easily, I was missing those moments while dhyey was nourishing in my womb, and I was waiting for pops out. This inspired me to write what all I miss..:(
The pink little cute wringled baby, whom first I was scared to touch and lap.
yes I miss My strange and increased-inches look, my eagerness to welcome him, the fear of labour, special attention that I used to get from mom-dad and sarang, those guessing moments about being boy/girl, missing questions that my mom frequently used to ask about movements and kicking times, the anxiety when he was kicking more than usual!!!
Those nursing time(The time that made me very upset and scared and weired initially),
Sleepless nights, the time when dhyey wanted to lied down in my arms, his each expressions, eagerness to listen word”mumma”,and his conversation with his dady(when I came back to Mumbai).

Dhyey's Car-Nama

Dhyey's Car-Nama
Few Months back Dhyey was tooo crazy about Hotwheels Cars, he had a huge collection of HWCars, it lasted for 3-4 months. Let me share one happening of Dhyey’s “Car-nama” .Before 6 months I bought waist set-3pk for him, one of it was his most favorite -,Car Printed all over(2nd Picture) and rest two are with single car print. Rest two are as it is, he doesn’t touch them even and allover car printed…….. well listen,he wears it whole day, I mean 24*7, my god such a crazy he is behind that waist. U will not believe, when I keep that in laundry bag, he picks up again and starts Crying "mumma my car peash, peash". Sometimes I use iron and cooler to make it Dry. for that time, he will wait but will wear nothing. So last month I bought same set from shoppers stop, another set of 3. now two has become four untouched!!!

My lil Handsome goes to playschool now!!!!

Time is flying like an arrow, can you believe, dhyey has become a preschooler now!!!
Before becoming a mom I had always question in my mind as what kind of education I would desire for my child and now a days I was thinking about it too much.
My family members were not convinced to take admission because dhyey is just 2.2 now,
But I like children early education,we all know there is no age and end to learning, I thought  This would be a right time to put him in play school so that he can learn to be in group of kids which also teach him to accommodates, adjust & share with other kids. I think I am doing right thing. I was thinking of sending him at Montessori school. But at this age dhyey loves play equipments, and very very crazy about Thomas trains and all that. DAFFODILS, dhyey’s playschool has only play way teaching at this moment and I know dhyey will love it.
Montessori education is different than ordinary schools, children learn more practical and social things there. But at this age, I think this would be a better for him, next year lets see, how he goes with his age.
Today was his first day in school, I was confident that he will have wonderful time at  DAFFODILS . because on the orientation day he was enjoying in children friendly atmosphere, infact he was not ready to come back to home!!  School allows parents for two days to attend the class with their kids to adjust with other playmates.  I went with dhyey, I found him so blissful and totally adjusted kid. It was great to watch as he was learning from and teaching others!!,

oops ... heavy rain...let me b prepared for school..
Today i got this ride-on car from dady (Gift for first day @ school)

Controlling  AC in class..:)
In my house also I try to make it seventh heaven, so he could learn and play, to develop him to be great person. I make him to use tasks around our home for learning activities, and he feels happy when he does. Like how to sort clothes, arrange dishes size wise, color wise stacking, and how to tidy up toys after playing, how to garbage and all routine activities, in fact all these tricks have made him very sharp and intelligent. Yes, sometimes i have to give him some conditions like “ do this and mumma will give you chocolates”…..:))). Every big thing begins with small step, I want his first small step to make him powerful and mannerful person
I think this is enough for today’s writing. its 2:30 am now, I am awakened and writing this post, there is no end to write about dhyey,I know. Because I store up his every second in my mind as I stay whole day with him. yes, one thing remaining, I wanted to add his vocabulary what he says to things.. I will add it in post “All About Dhyey”, I know u’ll not control on your laughing after reading his words. he speaks sapatant instead of Elephant, Patash i/o Flower, chikalav i/o boys, traan i/o train. and many more words, in his own created dictionary. I’ll write in next post…
I love him lord!!!! Thank you sooooo much for sending this miracle boy in my life…

Dhyey's Terrible Arthritis

I know,It has been a long time since I have posted about dhyey. In this post I am sharing how he was diagnosed with arthritis, his history and some clinical tests performed.

Dhyey was born by LSCS operation for non-prograssive labour. Birth weight was 3.3 kg. he required hospitalization From 19/3/2009 to 28/03/2009 for meconium aspiration syndrome with sepsis with neonatal jaundice.

In March,2010 he was hospitalized for 6 days for pneumonia.

In july,2010 he caught in severe chickenpox, and recovered after a month.

In October,2010  Dhyey  had Fever  103-104F, Skin rashes again , joint pain,& swelling. He  was treated with antibiotics,NSAIDs like paracitamol,Nimesulide,Mefenamic acid,Naproxen etc. antimalarial was also given. There was no response to any of these drugs.

After that I moved to Mumbai, and started treatment at Yewale hospital on 1/11/2010.
performed investigations showed anaemia, leucocytosis, normal platelets, raised ESR, LDH &ferritin. S.Proteins & SGPT were WNL(within normal limits). Hbs Ag test was negative. ASO Titre normal. Urine routine examination was normal. Xray skull was reported as normal. CT Scan study of chest, abdomen & pelvis showed hepatosplenomegaly & multiple enlarged lymphnodes. Lymphnodes were noted in both axillae, illac&inguinal regions.

Investigations(30/11/2010) showed anaemia(hb 7.5/dl),leucocytosys(TLC 18,400/cu.mm) with normal DLC. Platelets normal ESR &CRP are raised.RFT,LFT &Electrolytes are WNL.ANA &RA Factor Negative.LDH & ferritin raised. ELISA testes for HIV Negative. CXR &Sonography Showing hepatosplenomegaly with generalized lymphademopathy. ,

In December,2010 I visited To Dr. Baldev Prajapati First time, at that time Fever  103-104F, Skin rashes again , joint pain,& swelling, and morning stiffness. Multiple joint swelling noted. Multiple , significant (>2cm in size) lymphnodes over cervical , axillary &inguinal  region noted.liver 3 cm in size& spleen 2 cm on palpation. repeat tests for HIV were done,  Dr.Prajapati  advised for lymphnode biopsy and skin biopsy by Dr. Parthiv shah, and visit to Hematologist Dr. Ashwin Patel
Dr.Ashwin Patel suggested  tests for immunoglobulin and immunodeficiency and he did blood testing of mine too.
Report of Biopsy  showed unspecific nodes.
Dr. was almost sure that dhyey had a symptoms of arthritis, so he advised to visit pediatric rheumatologist Dr. R.P.Khubchandani.

In January,2011 we visited to Dr.R.P.Khubchandani, Dr. told us to admit Dhyey for 3 days under observation at Jaslok hospital. Dhyey was hospitalized from 10/01/11 to 13/01/11. at the time of discharge he was 60% fine than the time he was admitted.  Next step was , We had to start the methotrexate injections weekly ,some steroids everyday. Like most parents we were scared and did not want to give it to Dhyey. I asked many questions to Dr.”how will all medicines affect my child?, what are the long term effects of it, etc” Dr. described nicely that we will have great benefits than side effects. we prayed hard and put it in God’s hands because Dhyey had really no good luck for a couple months. We agreed with Dr.’s suggestions .we were told to meet him after one month with his blood test reports.

In February ,2011 we went to Dr. with reports. Dr. found raised WBC and some infections, but again medication helped him walk again. In short Dhyey’s arthritis was manageable with medicines. Dr. had a plan to reduce steroids in next visits.

Next appointment was settled on last week of march,2011, dr. found him very playful, no more complaints he was able to walk properly, and still with some infection but Dr. added that it will take some time to recovered. Infact we were also satisfied with his activities and recovery that he was getting. My Strong little boy always amazes me with his bravery and strength. on his birthday I asked God, is this a life of 2 years old???

Thank you Drs.!!!!!

“you must have to meet that Dr.” this was the sentence after meeting Dr.Baldev Prajapati. A very humble, loving Dr with beautiful mind. It had been a long journey to the doors of Dr. Prajapati’s hospital. i was in ahmedabad to attend my brother’s marriage in December. It had been very difficult time for me .After countless reports and several visits of Drs. We had no result. Dhyey had gone through biopsy, several xrays, sonography. I felt discouraged. Dr prajapati has guided me patiently and gently, I knew that I had to move on. Dr. prajapati suggested to visit very well known Dr. R.P.Khubchandani. I finally traveled from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. R.P.Khubchandani is one of my favourite Doctor. I had been told by other doctors that “Dhyey may need wheelchair through life time”. And I was almost died at that time. But after meeting Dr.R.P.Khubchandani my half pain of fear was almost gone,I became more confident. Dhyey was finally headed in the right direction.he got good treatment that he had not received in past. Medicines and injections are still in his course, but again my lil heart can walk, run and ever jump now. Many Thanks to Dr.Prajapati and Dr.khubchandani.
Thank you god for giving such a wonderful Drs. in this world.

Arthritis in Kids

Arthritis is a medical term used to describe a group of disorders that affect the joints and muscles in the human body. There are more than a hundred different forms of arthritis, each affecting one or more parts of the body. Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis are the most common types of this disease. Areas such as hands, elbows, feet, spine and knees fall prey to arthritis. What are the symptoms of arthritis? Inflammation, pain in joints, and inability to freely move the joints, are some of the most common symptoms of arthritis. Other (less common) symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, painful swelling and inflammation, fever and anemia. Joint arthritis damages the cartilage, which is a fluid-like substance that holds a lubricant to facilitate movement. Being a form of chronic disease, arthritis stays with the patient for years. One must understand that arthritis is a complex degenerative disorder that can affect people at any stage of life. Anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications can provide temporary relief to patients. However, a healthy, disciplined lifestyle, which includes healthy food and regular exercise, can help arrest the development of arthritis. The most prevalent form of juvenile arthritis is juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, or JRA. It affects approximately 50,000 children in the United States. JRA also called juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) because it is very different from adult rheumatoid arthritis.

What Causes JRA?

It's not known exactly what causes JRA in kids. Research indicates that it is an autoimmune disease. In autoimmune diseases, white blood cells lose the ability to tell the difference between the body's own healthy cells and harmful invaders like bacteria and viruses. The immune system, which is supposed to protect the body from these harmful invaders, instead releases chemicals that can damage healthy tissues and cause inflammation and pain.To effectively manage and minimize the effects of arthritis, an early and accurate diagnosis is essential. By understanding the symptoms and characteristics of each type of JRA, you can help your child maintain an active, productive lifestyle.

Signs and Symptoms

The first signs of arthritis can be subtle or obvious. Signs may include limping or a sore wrist, finger, or knee. Joints may suddenly swell and remain enlarged. Stiffness in the neck, hips, or other joints can also occur. Rashes may suddenly appear and disappear, developing in one area and then another. High fevers that tend to spike in the evenings and suddenly disappear are characteristic of systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Diagnosis

To diagnose JRA, the doctor will take a detailed medical history and conduct a thorough physical examination. The doctor may order X-rays to exclude other conditions that can produce similar symptoms

Treatments

In many cases, JRA may be treated with a combination of medication, physical therapy, and exercise. In specific situations, your child may require injection of corticosteroids into the joint or surgery. Your child's health care providers, including the primary care physician, rheumatologist, and physical therapist, will work together to develop the best method of treatment.
The goals of treatment are to relieve pain and inflammation, slow down or prevent the destruction of joints, and restore use and function of the joints to promote optimal growth, physical activity, and social and emotional development in your child

Why Do Kids Get JRA?

No one really knows what causes JRA. Something in the environment such as a virus may trigger the disease in kids that already have certain genes that make it more likely for them to get JRA. JRA is not contagious, so you can't catch it from someone else.
JRA is an autoimmune (say: aw-toe-i-myoon) disease. Normally, a kid's immune system sends out white blood cells to protect the body and fight outside invaders like bacteria and viruses that can make a kid sick. With JRA, the immune system makes a mistake and targets healthy cells as if they were harmful.
Instead of recognizing the healthy cells and saying, "Hi, nice to see you," the immune system thinks the healthy cells need to be destroyed and releases chemicals to fight the healthy cells. The chemicals the immune system releases cause the pain and swelling that a kid with JRA experiences.

What Do Doctors Do?

Just because a joint hurts doesn't mean a kid has JRA. A joint might hurt for a lot of different reasons, which is why it's important to see a doctor to figure out what the problem is.
The doctor will ask a lot of questions. How long has the kid had joint problems? Does he or she feel stiff when getting up or after resting? Are the joints swollen? Was there an injury? Could another problem be causing arthritis, such as Lyme disease? Is there a family history of arthritis or other autoimmune diseases?
Knowing these answers and doing a physical exam, blood tests, and X-rays will help the doctor figure out if it is JRA. If your doctor suspects that you may have JRA, he or she may send you to see a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis. This kind of doctor is called a rheumatologist (say: roo-muh-tol-oh-jist).
